Canyon
Through the window you can see the part of San Diego hidden from the city.
In the day it shows A lush green canyon
With levels that look endless
You can spot the large eucalyptus and oak trees from the other side of the canyon
At the bottom there are three orange trees surrounded by dead grass and forgotten flattened soccer balls
From the corner of my eye is see the mysterious green shed from across the canyon
Just sitting there and us not knowing who it belongs to although it has been there all along.
At night you can’t see or hear much unless you listen
Maybe the lights from an aztec game just over the hill
Or the houses just across the canyon and their lights that never seem to go off
It could be a night where I can hear the slurred laughter of my parents socializing
You could hear the sounds of coyotes howling in the night.
When it rains the canyon floods with rushing water
The looming grey clouds hover over and tease you with little specks of sun
You can hear the sounds of the rain pouring onto the metal awning that mimics the sound of paintballs smashing against a wood bunker
After the rain, the grass starts to grow uncontrollably just so and extra hot day and kill them all
then we're left with tall dead grass that was once a memory of rain.

My Path in the World
Dreams are like curtains, open them and let everyone know what you can bring to the world, close them and you close out your dreams for people to see. The one thing in life that makes me feel alive is surfing. You can have the best time of your life, so close to danger. There hasn't been another time in my life where I've felt like that before. The excitement of riding a wave, the exhilaration of stepping off into the water and feeling the sand under my feet. To be so connected with the ocean and the world around me is my dream.
As a close family friend often told me “If you can’t see the good in others how can they see it in you”. Aside from surfing, another thing I enjoy to do is to make other people happy and making other peoples lives better.
My dream place to live is in Ventura, California. A town very similar to San Diego. A place where I could enjoy life and surf every day with my family.
My dream for society is for everyone to get outside more and enjoy what life has to offer. A personal goal for me is to enjoy what nature has to offer me and give in return to nature. When I surf I get to enjoy the ocean, and all of the waves and the wildlife there is around the beach and in the water. In return I clean up in and out of the water. When nature gives me something I have to give something in return to better it and other peoples experiences and mine in the future. Both of my goals, society and personal, tie into each other in a way because I would like to be the change in society that I want to see.

Freckles
They are what make me who I am. They did not appear one day by a random chance, they were just always there. At times I’ve wondered what it would be like without them. It’s something I’ve thought a lot about. Would I have different friends? Would people change their opinions about me if one day they just disappeared. I wonder what I would look like.
With my freckles I feel different but good. Faces speak to me, not with words but with features like eyebrows or scars. The most intriguing facial feature are freckles. They send a message of kindness and friendliness, but beware, there are many people with friendly freckles who are full of rage from the negativity they receive from having them. Freckles come off of peoples faces and tell a story.
There are different kinds of freckles old splotchy black dots you might see on an elderly man. There are the small pen point light tan freckles you can see on the checks of children. If the freckles are old and worn, like the skin they are covering the face may show you age and harsh years. If the freckles are small and light, just barely a mark on the skin they present youth and many years to come.
Whether you like them or not, freckles are everywhere all around the world or if your face is full of them or not, freckles are loved everywhere.

41st street
Just off of El Cajon boulevard there is a street hidden from the police sirens and the noise from the busy street. On the other side of the street there was Kensington Park. Kensington Park had a library, swing set, and nice children. It was a fantasy for a kid. not so much on the other side, El Cajon Boulevard. A place where I used to live a long time ago.
There were ups and downs to living there. There was the nice girl my brothers age who we would hang out with. We would always play hide and seek whenever I was it I would look and look and look but never find them. When I gave up I would walk into me and my brothers room and see them playing together. I felt like a needle to the heart when they wouldn’t let me play with them. I would get mad and storm out and the next day we would act like it never happened and they would do it again.
We would walk over to Roberto's taco shop (where we still go today) and decide what we wanted on the walk over but we would always end up getting the same thing, a delicious Ham and Egg breakfast burritos. After, we would go to the donut shop next door and stare into the glass shelf filled with donuts.
Then there was Kensington Park and the long walks of anticipation to get on the swings. We would race around the biggest tree until we got dizzy and fall to the ground and laugh. We would always make friends at the park. People from all around San Diego. They never stayed in our minds for long because the next time we would go they wouldn’t be there and they soon escaped my mind. If you saw us playing you would think we were lifelong friends. We had no sense of danger everyone was a friends at my old neighborhood.

In the Night Sky
When I look at the night sky all I see is a bunch of little specks
they mean nothing to me
but to others they could mean a whole lot
I could never figure out why people would care or even make a career out of it
I tried so hard to understand those specks dancing around and twinkle
like a wind-up ballerina doll
but I realized that what I was basing my wonder off of was other peoples observations
I have to see the little specks through my eyes
then when i noticed them my eyes were kaleidoscope glasses
that was the time I really saw the stars they were vivid all different sizes
they mean lots of thing and are open to interpretation
they could mean anything thats what is so amazing
When I look up at the night sky I finally understand.

The Beaches to the Mountains
I am from words being heard
I am from home cooked meals and early bedtimes
I am from the sandy beaches to the mountain peaks and the huge boulders they carry
I am from making things with my hands not because its cheaper but because it’s rewarding
I am from being patient for things that may not come
I am from people who care
I am from people who don’t
I am from friends that care
I am from a questionable neighborhood
I am from my community and everyone around me.

Greek Tragedy Project
For our greek tragedy project we had to create plays with our own original greek tragedy plays within our class. Every person in the class had a specific job to do in the play like creating a movie poster or making the backdrops Etc.
Our play was about a man (Antonio) and his wife (Carolina) that immigrate to New York, 1935. Antonio looks very hard for work but can seem to find any because no one wants an immigrant working for them. Antonio takes up stealing to get him and his pregnant wife food and basic needs. Antonio gets affiliated with a gang. The gang plans to rob a house to get some quick cash. Carolina finds out and is very opposed to the idea but Antonio explains how much better their lives could be from this one job, Carolina changes her mind but is still very worried for Antonio. The gang leader suspects there is a snitch in their operation there is. The snitch goes to the police and tells them all about the heist. The night of the heist the police are waiting for them at the house. The thug shoots the rookie cop and kills him. Then the head cop shoots the thug and Antonio and kills them. Leaving Carolina widowed and alone to raise their child alone.
This was the play that was selected from our class. Everyone made their own plays but only one got to be performed. My original Idea was about a father and his two sons. His youngest son is very sick and they need to steal the medication from a medical center. Here are some pictures of our story board
In the play I was a co-writer and also on the awards committee. I had to collaborate with the other writers to write a 7 scene play over thanksgiving break. It took a lot of hard work and patients to work with others because everyone has an idea in there head on how the play is going to go and you have to reach an agreement on what we wanted. For the awards me and some other students went online and ordered awards for every group who participated in the project. Then at the end of the performance we presented the awards to the groups who won. I am proud of both of these jobs because I spent a lot of time in each of these jobs and I had a fun time doing them because I got to work with people I had never worked with before.

Into The Wild
For the Into The Wild project we had to read the book Into The Wild by John Krakauer. The book tells about a young man named Chris Mccandless and his battle with independance from his family and breaking free from society. We had to closely analyze this book and make personal observations on what we thought of Chris Mccandless; was what he did smart?, Why did he do it? In the Math/Physics part we prepared for a camping trip that would take us to Anza Borrego, a place where Chris Mccandless spent some of his time. To prep we built camp stoves, headlamps, and compasses. After the trip we had sometime to reflect on the incedent then we made a collage book of our camping experience, from the beginning to the end. I am most proud of the book my group made because we spent a lot of time on it to make it perfect. If I were to do this project over I would change would be taking the extra effort to get the compass to work well.

The Happiness Project
The happiness project was about all things happy. We studied everything that can make you happy or sad. We started our research at the San Diego Public Libraries data base. In this data base they have everything you could ever want to research in it. Each group chose 6 elements of happiness that they wanted to pursue. We had to acquire 3 sources for each element of happiness for a total of 18 sources. Through this project I not only learned how to live a happy lifestyle, but I also learned how to make MLA citations for each of our sources. We also learned how to do deep text analyzing and how to annotate. In the end we made books out of our research. This is what I am most proud of from this project because it was all of our work summed up in a book. The one thing I would change is that we didn't spend much time at the SD downtown library.
